Here is the transcript promised.

LEO
Welcome to A. N. N., the Astrology News Network, and to our show,
"Regulus: Focus on Royalty". I am Leo Luna. Stella Starlet?

STELLA
Leo. Today we will be talking about the King of Sweden. They say it's
good to be the king... but for how long? Kings don't get to retire, do
they?

LEO
No. If you are king, the only rest you get is the final one, but death
is not really the same as retirement now is it?

STELLA
Hardly! Not in my book anyway.

LEO
It may seem a glorious and glamorous life to us mere common mortals,
but you are on duty until the day you die. At least that is how it has
used to be. And on top of that, the cameras are rolling 24/7,
paparazzis watching your every move, the tabloids hovering like
vultures over their victims. So much for glamorous!

STELLA
But perhaps that is all going to change now? At least in the Kingdom
of Sweden. According to the latest reports from our team of
professional astrologers, the Swedish king will choose to retire in
2017. Okay, the paparazzis and the tabloids probably wont let that
stop them, but a king retiring would be a change from established
tradition, wouldn't it?

LEO
Normally, that would be an unexpected move.

STELLA
What do YOU think? Is such a thing likely to happen?

LEO
It shouldn't be. Royals usually don't do "unexpected", at the very
least not when it comes to matters regarding monarchy itself. However,
a decade's old story with gossip involving the majesty and an
internationally famous pop star slash former scandal beauty et cetera
exploded recently, and perhaps one solution for the royal house would
be to make a change in management, so to speak.

STELLA
With "change in management", you mean letting the king step down in
favour of the future queen, today's "Crown Princess". Retirement.

LEO
Right. To do so too soon would be to acknowledge some kind of defeat,
and that they will hardly do. But they will start to think about
making the transition to a new generation sooner rather than later.
They will not do it the old-fashioned way, and wait with succession
until the king dies. As they would otherwise probably have done.

STELLA
Still, 2017 is a rather long way off. Will not this all be forgotten
by everyone by then? If so, what difference will his retirement make?
What is the point?

LEO
Yes, it may be forgotten by then, but among royal dynasties, the
perspective on time is more in terms of generations than on tabloid
sound-bite sensations.

STELLA
I don't get it. 2017 is still many years off.

LEO
It is, but the present pandemonium will lead to changes in how they
handle things right NOW. For now, they will have to move some of the
spotlight over to the Crown Princess. That, in turn, will have long-
term effects.

STELLA
Oh, now I get it. They are REALLY thinking in the LONG term.

LEO
The idea with monarchy has to do with continuity. In a modern
constitutional monarchy, the monarch symbolizes that democracy is
legitimate, that the change into modern times happened with the
acceptance from the country's past inhabitants and rulers. Drastic
change, like revolution or war, was not necessary, and the transition
into modern democracy happened by altogether lawful means. For a
monarchist, this is important. Therefore, like the stars, royals make
their moves VERY slowly.

STELLA
So. If this whole affair has been forgotten by 2017, so much the
better.

LEO
Yes, and no. Whether it will be forgotten or not is not too important.
The sympathies are with the king in any way, not with the tabloids.
Even the royal family's foremost critics and enemies rally behind
them, for instance a former Soviet agent who is very anti-monarchy.
People seem to agree with the proverbial saying that it is human to
err, but divine to forgive. Swedish moralism is not really of the
judgemental kind.

STELLA
I see. Back to this thing with the royal perspective on time. You are
saying that if we are to understand how royals operate, we need to
look at time as they do.

LEO
Precisely.

STELLA
That makes me think of how the Swedish Crown Princess met her Prince.
They met some eight or nine years ago, but they didn't marry until
this year because they wanted to marry at the right time. Not to align
with the stars, but to get all the dates just right. It turns out that
this year is the bicentennial of the Swedish royal dynasty, so that is
why they chose to marry in 2010. You cannot call waiting for eight or
nine years to be rushing into things, can you?

LEO
No, and rushing about is not a very royal thing to do in the first
place. From their point of view, the all-important thing is the long-
term perspective. And in the long-term perspective, it may be in the
best interest of Sweden, and the Swedish monarchy, to have the
succession happen sooner rather than later.

STELLA
A fresh start.

LEO
If you will. And if so, tradition will have to yield to that goal.
Even though the scandal is not likely to have any greater effect, if
any at all, it is a fact that though people are fond of the king, the
crown princess is loved and cherished. She is extremely popular.

STELLA
Oh yes, the crown princess Victoria is an absolute darling, no arguing
about that. She is a true "Princess Charming". Now, we shall perhaps
not go too far into detail and technicalities, but could you also say
a few words on how an astrologer can predict something like a king's
retirement? Even if it is written in the stars, how do you know where
to look?

LEO
It may be hard to believe, but it is sometimes easier for an
astrologer to make predictions regarding royalty than regarding
others, as there are some things in astrology that apply more to
royalty than to others. For instance, there is a star that is
particularly significant when it has to do with all things royal, and
which is involved in this case. In a very conspicuous way too.

STELLA
So all this can be seen only by looking into the horoscope of the
king? That is amazing.

LEO
Actually, in this case, our team of astrologers have compared several
different horoscopes with one another to reach their conclusion. The
king's horoscope is a given, of course, but the astrologers also
looked into the horoscope of the king's daughter, the Crown Princess,
and into the horoscope of her marriage this summer. And everything
fits together, like a jigsaw puzzle.

STELLA
But... How do the astrologers know which horoscopes to look at. There
must be an infinity of possible combinations. How do they choose.

LEO
In this case, as the Crown Princess would be as involved as the king,
being first in line to the throne, the events going on are visible in
horoscopes that have to do with her as well. That this can be done at
all is, as you say, amazing.

STELLA
What is the name of this star that you mentioned, this star of
royals.

LEO
Regulus.

STELLA
Just like the name of this show!

LEO
You got it! It has been associated with the institution of kingship
all over the world since ancient times. As you may know, the science
of astrology was known all over the ancient world. And in the
horoscopes of the King and the Crown Princess, the Princess Charming
as you call her, this royal star is especially highlighted in the year
2017.

STELLA
Combining horoscopes sounds like an interesting method, and I hope you
have more to say about that.

LEO
The principle is really very simple. The idea is that if two people
together are affected by the same thing at the same time, and it is a
thing of some importance, than that thing is mirrored in both
horoscopes.

STELLA
And in this case, you say, that thing is the star of royals: Regulus,
and the event it tells us of is the king's retirement and succession.

LEO
Precisely. Of course there are other factors involved, but this is the
telltale sign.

STELLA
I understand there is more to a horoscope than a single star, however
royal a star. We still have a minute or so left of the show, so let us
look into this. Of the other factors involved, is there any other one
that would be of particular interest to mention.

LEO
Well, yes. Before the astrologers found out about the succession they
were tipped off by a clue leading them in that direction. An eclipse
occuring a week after the Crown Princess marriage indicated a change
coming up in 2017. According to Charles Jayne, a Wall Street technical
analyst gone astrologer, "Nothing good, or of importance, starts
without an eclipse behind it".

STELLA
Okay. That eclipse quote seems to imply that, all things considered,
in the long run a kingly retirement would be a good thing for all
involved. This is mind-blowing, but, though I have a thousand more
questions for you to answer, for today this is a wrap.

LEO
Let me just say one more thing to our viewers before we close. If you
are interested in learning more about the astrology of this story, and

STELLA
We shall put a transcript of the show over there too. See you over in

LEO
And thank you to you also Stella.
