Please note that on or around July 15, 2009, AT&T will no longer be
offering access to the Usenet netnews service. If you wish to continue
reading Usenet newsgroups, access is available through third-party
vendors.

======================================= MODERATOR'S COMMENT:
Strictly speaking, this is off-topic, but if anyone wants to suggest possible solutions for those in alt.astrology.moderated affected by this, do so. Google Groups might be an alternative for some.

Also free are news.albasani.net and motzarella.org
news.individual.net charge 10 Euros per year, but have a better retention
rate than the other 3 free ones.

As a follow up to my post, there appears to be some confusion at AT&T.

http://my.att.net/newsgroup/s/s.dll?spage=cg/news/newsgroup004.htm&only=y&ck=

http://tinyurl.com/lpf8l8

says they will continue to offer access to news groups but no longer to
alt.bin* nor alt.bain*

No it wasn't. I don't even use AT&T and I saw it. Someone must have messed
up.
So if you got the above notice, don't assume it affects you. Better check
whether it does, though.
