Notes on the 11th Profected Year of alt.astrology.moderated

I see that the group, according to Bonatti's tables of Firdaria
(there are others) has just entered its Saturn Firdar.

This may not be particularly auspicious (and it will last a long
time) because radix Saturn is in Fall, and cadent in the 9th
house, but does nicely trine the radix Ascendant. (Also, I have
observed that posters from countries other than, and mostly older
(Saturn) than the U.S. have quite a lot of good stuff to
contribute!)

I think we have recently seen the obvious manifestation, of
someone from an older country, far from the U.S. (9th house
Saturn), with a great deal of energy (Aries), now in charge of
the group, and the fine work he has done, and continues to do.

The Profected Year:
A quick look at the profected year focuses on the 12th house. We
take the radix 12th house, using whole sign houses, as the
profected Ascendant, for our 11th year.(1) This gives us the
Moon as our profected Ascendant ruler.

In the radix chart, Moon is in grand trine with Sun, Venus, and
Jupiter. *But*, Moon makes a reception with an unhappy radix
Venus in detriment, which Venus welcomes, but the Moon does not,
since Scorpio is the Moon's Fall. The Moon is equally
uncomfortable with reception to radix Sun, which the Sun does not
mind but, again, Scorpio is the Moon's Fall.

Radix Jupiter may act as a mediator, although not as strong as
we'd wish him to be, due to retrogradation. Still he is
domiciled, and both Moon and, moreso, Jupiter are quite happy
with their trine and reception, just as Sun and, moreso, Venus
are both happy with their trines and receptions with Jupiter, and
he is at ease with them, but especially partial to the Moon.

I hope I've explained the discomfort between the Moon, Sun and
Venus and, therefore, the houses they rule are at cross-purposes.
This means the radix (whole sign) 12th house ruler, Moon, which
is the group's Profected Ascendant this year, is already (from
the start, and forever) at odds with the Sun-ruled radix
Ascendant (this year's 2nd house), and the Venus ruled radix MC
(this year's 11th house), and radix 3rd house (this year's 4th
house). Not a joyful picture.

When we use the Solar Return, to get a bit more information about
the group's 11th year, we see that our profected Ascendant ruler
is again in Cancer, just as she is in the radix chart, and now
conjunct the Dragon's Tail in the SR 4th house, probably not a
happy thing. She also squares Venus, but it is an acceptable
reception for both, so we may take hope that, from all of this,
perhaps more lurkers will join in (12th house profected year, and
4th house Solar Return Profected Ascendant Ruler) in square to a
domiciled Venus (even though she is in the Via Combusta, and
about to make an unhappy change).

The Solar Return Moon also trines SR Uranus, who hides in the SR
12th house. So, if we want to consider Uranus, it is clear from
the whole 12th house emphasis that we may be in for some
surprises (South Node and Uranus...), or perhaps everyone will be
terribly shy... (Except for the Leos - Profected 2nd house of
'what we have'.)

The Solar Return Moon also makes a separating trine to the Solar
Return Sun, and to the combust Mercury, but the Dragon's Tail
applies to the trine. When the degree of the Nodes is in the
degree of the Solar Return Sun and Mercury, we might expect some
measure of discord since, again, we have a Cancer Moon in the
Solar Return, who does not much care for reception with Scorpio.

There is so much more work we could do to increase our
understanding and get a more detailed forecast for the year (but
it would take me hours).

With the completion of our *next* Solar Return, we will have
finally made our first go-round through all our profected houses
(I think). Then they will begin to repeat, and we may or may not
see patterns begin to form around each Profected Ascendant Year,
but it is hard to say for sure, because the Solar Returns will
have varying positions, as well as the progressions, arcs, etc.
(Which I've completely skipped here, short of time.)

(1) If you are new to Firdaria and Profections, a Google search
may yield some introductory information.

As for me, I am in the final year of my unbearably long (11 year)
Saturn Firdar (according to Bonatti), and I dearly hope things
will improve after my next birthday. I can tell you that the
demarcation of this firdar was swift and dramatic, and that it
has been an agonizing 10 years (so far), in perfect expression of
my natal Saturn. This was also shown, however, in transits, and
progressions, and solar arcs. So, it all works rather seamlessly
together, all indications in accord, each of my tried and true
methods confiming the others.

Oops, this *is* our final year of first completion. On the next
Solar Return, the 12th, we will begin to repeat the whole cycle
of profections, with radix Ascendant = Profected Ascendant.
(Remember how many Virgos were posting the first year of the
group? Radix/Profected 2nd house :-)

Oops again! The group entered its Saturn Firdar on its 2007
Solar Return (according to Bonatti's tables).

Did anyone notice?

(The tables are different for diurnal and nocturnal births; I'm
praying I don't live past 62 when my Mars Firdar kicks in at 63.)

Argh! There are so many errors with simple arithmetic, I must
apologize. I should have had a chart wheel in my hand while
writing.

If anyone is interested, I could write one or two allegorical
tales, illustrating how the poor receptions in the aamod chart
could play out, both as a group chart, and as if it were the
chart of an individual. That way, it would be a little clearer
how poor receptions create both internal and behavioral conflict.
