Hi, Kjell,

Thanks for your appreciation of my politeness. A lot of people don't
appreciate it, believe it or not. I also wanted to be as polite as
possible because some of the flaming in these forums is really
obnoxious. I imagine that you want to save your posters from that as
well, which is really considerate. I will post my post again, without
the superiority language, because I think it (the rest of the post) is
worthwhile, and if I may say so, at least here to you in private, I
believe it is a more accurate reflection of the background of why a lot
of people think 12/12/12 is important.

Again, it seems perfectly legitimate for someone to say that s/he
believes that Placidus is more accurate than other systems or what I
said about the Maya. I don't want to cause anyone indignation,
aggravation, etc. here. However, no ideological sovereignty at all
seems to be putting too fine a point on what people can say on your
forum. Again, that's my opinion, and I thank you for reconsidering your
point of view to possibly accommodate people who want to assert some
degree of ideological superiority (not to say sovereignty, which again,
I think is different than superiority, the former suggesting that there
is only one system which is better, and the latter suggesting that there
may be gradations or heirarchies of superiority), especially if they can
give evidence that the forum can further discuss, as to why they have
made such an assertion. Once again, not to be tiresome, I did try to
submit my evidence for saying the Mayan system is more accurate and more
complex than Western systems by offering the website www.dearbrutus.com
for people to refer to to see for themselves what they think.

Thanks again, for your openness to reason, another thing that many
people I try to communicate with seem not to be open to, much to my
chagrin!

I did try to
submit my evidence for saying the Mayan system is more accurate ...
than Western systems
1) I'm not aware there's any way to conclusively prove that.

2) This conversation (which kind of astrology is more accurate) is at
least as ancient as the creation of the second form of astrology. It's
certainly been argued to death in alt.astrology.moderated.

3) What form of astrology yields the most accurate results depends on
a huge variety of factors, including proficiency, culture, and
personal beliefs, among others.

4) It's flame-bait to make an assertion that any form of astrology is
universally 'more accurate' than any other. I think it's legitimate to
say one version might yield the best *personal* results, but even
those conversations can easily degrade into religious feuds. And
religion is built purely on faith.

MESSAGE TO ALL

For some reason, most likely technical though I have no explanation at
this point, this post was let through though it was not supposed to. I
read it, and I also rejected it from the queue, so it should not have
passed -- yet somehow it still did.

Also, it was not intended to be a post to the news group but a message
to me, Kjell, moderator in charge. I will now close this thread. If
anyone has any questions regarding moderation policy etc, please
respond to me IN PRIVATE (by using my email, or if you use Google
Groups, by using "Reply to author").

Regards,

/Kjell
