The Oprah Winfrey Secret

There is no-one quite like her, yet what defines her is how much we
can identify with her. Perhaps that has got to with her being an
Aquarian, with Sun partile conjunction Venus to boot. Or is it the
Ascendant within minutes of zero degrees cardinal, in late
Sagittarius? Or what may it be?

Can the secret of Oprah's extraordinary success, within so many areas,
be explained astrologically? What in her chart would you point out, or
is it how it is in its entirety?

Myself I think it is the combined signature rather than any particular
facet of the chart. However, that said, I think this signature
consists of several specific features. These are the features I would
nominate:

- Mars is single dispositor of the chart.
- Venus is cazimi the Sun.

Given that Mars and Venus rule the MC/IC-axis, this would exaggerate
the relationship between origins and destiny. Furthermore, if the
chart is correct (the Ascendant is very close to a sign change) the
rulers of Ascendant (Jupiter) and Descendant (Mercury) have their
midpoint EXACTLY upon the MC/IC-axis, even more stressing its
importance.

It could also be noted that her Sun/Moon-midpoint is at about 6 CAP 45
and that she, thus, has recently had transiting Pluto crossing the
midpoint. It will backtrack its steps the sixth of June, which may be
a day of importance to her as the transiting Sun does more or less
simultaneously conjoin her natal Jupiter. Pluto will return yet again
for a last visit to the midpoint in mid-December. Her period of
transformation is, I would say, not over with her ending her talk
show.

Here an article on dispositors, in particular mentioning Mars as
single dispositor with dr. Ruth as an example (Mars in Aries).

One thing I notice is this:

”[A] single final dispositor will get clobbered by transits.”

In Oprah's chart this about being clobbered by transits is true not
only of Mars, the single dispositor, but also for Venus and the Sun,
Jupiter and Mercury. Whenever one of these gets a transit, the MC/IC-
axis will be affected in one way or another. Their five positions are
spread from the ninth until the 24th degree, making Oprah's MC/IC
almost continuously affected by different transits in one way or
another, directly or indirectly.

Another interesting thing with the MC/IC-axis is that not only does it
have Venus and Mars ruling it ”vertically”, the houses are also both
ruled by both planets ”horizontally” (the tenth covering Libra/
Scorpio, the fourth Aries/Taurus).

There are of course many other interesting things in her chart, but I
think that in the extreme activation of the MC/IC-axis we see the
mechanisms of her fulfilment of the American dream; rising from very
hard and humble circumstances to becoming, figuratively, a fixed
star.

Well, for those of you who do not know any Gemini's, let me just state
that here you see a clear example of one; me carrying on an entire
conversation on my own, taking care of all what is said. When you are
a Gemini, you are never alone!

hard and humble circumstances to becoming, figuratively, a fixed
star.
One thing that is interesting with the MC/IC-axis (not only in Oprah's
chart) is that the fourth house stands for your contry. In principle,
each one of us would be capable of predicting the fortunes of our
motherlands and fatherlands through examining the fourth house of our
own natal charts.

In Oprah's case we see a connection that means that whenever her Asc/
Desc-axis gets activated, so is the MC/IC-axis. This effect has been
given a name; "the Oprah Effect" (see: http://www.cnbc.com/id/29961298/
-- for instance). And recently it was estimated that it even
translates into the political; some think that Obama gained another
*million* votes due to the Oprah Effect, and that these votes may have
settled the election.

I would say that even if my theory of what is the "secret" of her
chart is not correct, I do think it pinpoints a part of the picture.
This interaction between self and country is precisely what the
signature I point to describes, and something like that must -- I
think -- be part of her signature.

Her chart is not only a personal chart. She is a world mover, and her
signature must contain an explanation to that.

Speaking of her Sun/Moon-midpoint, I also noted that her progressed
midpoint axis will conjoin/oppose her progressed Pluto in a month,
around the tenth of July. Pluto, however, is in her natal eight house,
so if anything happens to/with her it may be an altogether internal
thing. The midpoint axis also going through the second house, if it
affects her thoughts about herself (self-value that is), that may also
be imperceptible to the world at large.

But I would be happy to know if you who have more access to American
media report, should some news come along!
