Sun in zodiac signs

Greetings. I have a little problem here. I need to calculate sun
position in zodiac signs (Sun in 17 degrees of Aries now), but I have
no idea how to do it. Difficulty in that I need algorithm, not just
resource or form that calculates this value.
Will be thankful for any advice or help.
