Handy method of charting progressions

I find the following a very useful way of getting an overview of what
progressions and transits happen when. It's not exact - you still need a
separate list giving the exact dates; but it does make it easier to see how
all the separate aspects fit together. My mother came up with this method -
I don't know if anyone else uses anything similar?

The easiest way to explain it is by an example (view in Courier New or other
fixed-width font):
------------------------------------------
| APR | MAY | JUN | JUL |
------------------------------------------
|---------|-SUp sq PL|---------|----> |
| <--|-------SAt|tr MA----|-----> |
| |<JUt sq MA|> <MOp|cj PL> |
------------------------------------------
That is, rule a column for each month, write each aspect in the appropriate
column for when it becomes exact, then draw lines on each side extending for
as long as it's in orb. It's much clearer if you use a different colour for
each planet. Using columns an inch wide and dividing the page into three
rows, three years' progressions and transits fit very neatly onto an A4 page
(sideways on).
I hope some of you find this useful.

That IS how PCA, now Argus 4 (by Electric Ephemris) has been listing aspect
overview over time since at mid- or early 1980's and it is indeed useful if
a suitable orbis set up is used.

You can find this chart on the Astrodienst site
http://www.astro.com/horoscope

Go to Free Horoscopes and click on Free Horoscopes At a Glance
http://www.astro.com/horoscopes . Get your chart set up and then go back to
the Free Horoscopes At A Glance page and scroll down to the Extended Chart
Selection (at the bottom of the list). Click this and then, under Methods,
click on the Special Charts group. Pop this open and click on whichever of
the four Transit Calendars that you prefer. This will give you a list like
that below which also shows the date when the transit is exact, and print it
off.

Thanks, Peter and Linda. I wondered if other people had thought of this
method - it seems so obvious, I couldn't believe my mother and I were the
only astrologers who used it! I never realised before that Astrodienst had
that particular set of chart types. Thanks for pointing that out.
