If these are your first posts, welcome to aam!

We can be a boisterous crowd, but we can also actually discuss some
astrology. I'd be interested in hearing your take on the Mayan system.

BTW, Google Groups is a great way to review a newsgroup's history.

P.S.--I tried google groups, perhaps not properly for reviewing another
group and I was only able to access so far back.

The search function in Google Groups is problematic. There is supposed
to be a workaround, but when I tried it I did not get any better
results. However, I have created an astrological search engine for us,
which contains the archives of this group, which actually works
better. Strange, since the search engine I've created is done with the
use of a Google service, but anyhow.

Searches there are, however, mixed with results from all-over the web.
Still, it contains only astrological sites so the hits should be
relevant. When the up-and-coming blog is in place, I shall create a
search engine with our archives only and put up there, but that will
not be until later this fall.

The address to the search engine is http://www.uranica.com/

The address to the blog for this group will be announced at a later
time.

/Kjell

P.S.
The uranica search engine does not, however, contain the unmoderated
newsgroup alt.astrology.

Even when using the advanced page:
http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&, it doesn't return
obvious things (subjects I know exist, for instance). Still workable,
though.

I don't know how you did it, but I think it's great! Kudos to
Kjell!

Hi, Ken,

I don't know that much about the Mayan system except what I learned on
www.dearbrutus.com, which is only introductory. However, if I'm not
mistaken, there is a god/dess or archetype for every day of the year in
Mayan astrology, which is why I said that it seemed more complex than
(not to say superior to) Western. There's quite a lot to it in any
case. I believe it is proven scientific fact that Mayan calendars in
general are the most accurate calendars ever known. I heard about this
on a PBS show (Channel 13 here in New York some months ago, maybe even
last year). I'm sure that one can check this out by googling it,
perhaps by putting in the words, "Mayan calendars."

Okay, thanks.

BTW, Google Groups is flaky, but the info is there. Try different
settings, like specifying dates. I was looking at posts in
alt.astrology from 1997 a few days ago.

I did do what you suggest on google groups, i.e., putting in dates, but
I was not able to find what I was looking for. Many forums on google
groups are flaky, may I say, including this one?
