Effects of transiting Jupiter in opposition to natal planets?

I entered a competitive event in November 1957 when Jupiter transited
my MC and had favorable results. I note that another competitive
event will begin shortly, on a scheduled date when Jupiter opposes my
natal Sun. Is such an aspect to be considered favorable? (The
challenge is intellectual, not physical. Mercury and Uranus are
involved in two other oppositions.)

I'm almost in the same boat...when Jupiter gets within orb of 11
Pisces...will be opposite my Mercury in Virgo, then my Sun, Saturn
Venus. Before Mercury though will be Lilith and N. Node in single
digits Virgo vs Pisces. My MC is 26 Aquarius, right where the 3
Aquarians (Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune) stopped / conjoined each other!
